About Apex.

One academy. Two coaches. One shared idea about how jiu-jitsu should be taught.

Our mission is to help you get as good at jiu-jitsu as you can — and to enjoy the process of getting there.

Both matter. We don't think one comes at the cost of the other.

Whoever you are, whatever your starting point — age, experience, gender — we coach to the same high standard. We turn up every day because this is what we love.

Black belt. Training since 2017. Coaching since 2020. Co-founded Apex Jiu-Jitsu Atlanta in 2025 with Elliot, after five years coaching at Apex London together.

Owen actively competes at the highest level of no-gi jiu-jitsu.

  • 4th Place — ADCC World Championships 2024
  • 1st Place — ADCC European Trials 2023
  • 1st Place — IBJJF European Championship No-Gi 2022 (purple belt)
  • 3rd Place — IBJJF World Championship 2022 (blue belt)
  • 3rd Place — IBJJF European Championship 2022 (blue belt)
  • Currently ranked top 10 in the world (145 lbs) and top 20 in the world (155 lbs)

Brown belt. Training since 2018. Coaching since 2020. Co-founded Apex Jiu-Jitsu Atlanta in 2025 with Owen, after five years coaching at Apex London together.

Competed and won at every belt level so far. Coaches adult competitors at Apex.

How we got here.

We met in late 2018 at Gracie Barra Fulham. Owen was thirteen and had been training for less than a year. Elliot had just put on a white belt for the first time. We trained together five or six days a week, came up through the ranks alongside each other, and it became clear pretty quickly that the friendship and the training were going to be the same thing.

Apex started in London in 2020. Five years later, we co-founded Apex Jiu-Jitsu Atlanta. Same name, same coaching philosophy, the same two of us on the mat together — just on a different continent.

Every member at Apex keeps getting better — because every member is coached as a person, not a category. One of us is on the mat for every class. We know who's there tonight, and we know what each of them is working on. That's not branding; it's just how the academy works.
