How we think about it

How we think about self-defense.

Awareness and de-escalation first. Workshops are periodic events, not a weekly class. No date is published right now — call to ask about the next one.

  • Reading a room before anything happens
  • De-escalating when there's still time
  • How to fall safely if it goes that way
  • Creating space and getting out
  • Controlling someone bigger than you when you have to
  • Knowing when to stop

These workshops are not part of our weekly class schedule. We will publish the date, audience, length, and booking details here when the next one is confirmed.

Practical self-defense, taught honestly.

Each Apex self-defense event focuses on a small number of practical problems rather than pretending one workshop can prepare someone for every situation. We start with awareness and de-escalation, then work on creating space, escaping, falling safely, and controlling a threat only when leaving is not possible.

False confidence is dangerous. Our workshops use clear instruction and carefully scaled resistance so beginners can understand what a technique requires and where its limits are. The subject is serious, but the room is patient and approachable.

No martial-arts experience is required. Call +1 470-974-0963 to ask whether the next workshop is being planned. Event details will be published here when they are confirmed.

Want to start jiu-jitsu as a beginner instead?

Our weekly schedule is the published No-Gi timetable, taught to one standard whether it's your first week or your fifth year.

Your first No-Gi class is free. Tell us what you've trained before — including nothing — pick any class on the schedule, and the coach will know you're new before you arrive.

Ask about the next workshop.
